Jude Bellingham dismisses lifestyle rumours after goal in Real Madrid’s 6-1 win
Jude Bellingham responded to recent criticism in emphatic fashion, scoring in Real Madrid’s 6-1 Champions League victory over Monaco and dismissing speculation about his off‑field lifestyle as “outside noise.”
The England midfielder, 22, marked his first goal of 2026 with a drinking gesture celebration, which quickly went viral. He explained afterwards that it was “a bit of a joke back to the fans” following claims from Spanish YouTuber AuronPlay that he “loves alcohol too much” and frequents nightclubs across Spain. Those comments had led to boos and whistles directed at Bellingham during Madrid’s weekend win over Levante.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Bellingham said: “It feels like anyone now can get a camera, say what they want and the whole world just believes them with no evidence. You can cry about it and moan, or you can just roll with it and enjoy it. For me, I know the truth and I know what really goes on in my personal life.”
He added that his focus remains on delivering for Madrid’s supporters: “The fans pay their money, work all week and save up to come to Real Madrid games to support us so they’re entitled to say what they want. This was the kind of performance we have to deliver more for our fans.”
Bellingham’s strike capped a dominant night for Madrid, who maintained their momentum in Europe while their star midfielder reminded critics that his influence is measured on the pitch, not off it.
