Cristiano Ronaldo Buys £3.1m Luxury Villas in Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea Project

Cristiano Ronaldo has added another luxury purchase to his ever-growing empire, with the Al-Nassr star reportedly buying high-end villas in Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Red Sea project. The Portugal captain and fiancée Georgina Rodriguez are said to be among the first buyers in the ultra-exclusive development.

According to British media reports, the properties are based at Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve developed by Red Sea Global, around 26 kilometres off the Saudi mainland. Access is strictly by chartered boat or seaplane, underlining just how private the set-up is meant to be.

Each villa is priced from SAR 15.5 million, roughly £3.1 million, with just 19 residences available in total. The project promises bespoke services, seclusion and untouched natural surroundings – something that clearly appealed to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Ronaldo has spoken of feeling an immediate connection to the island alongside Rodriguez. “From the moment we first visited, Georgina and I felt a connection with the island and its natural beauty – it’s a place where we feel at peace,” he said. “Now we have a home here, we can enjoy quality time with family in complete privacy and serenity whenever we like.”

The move adds to Ronaldo’s deepening links with Saudi Arabia since his switch to Al-Nassr in 2023. That deal made him the highest-paid footballer in history, with a reported annual salary of £177 million, plus bonuses and a claimed 15 per cent ownership stake in the club.

Financially, Ronaldo has been in a league of his own for years. A Bloomberg report revealed he earned more than $550 million in salary between 2002 and 2023, alongside a Nike endorsement worth close to $18 million a year for a decade. Deals with brands like Armani and Castrol has pushed his off-field earnings well beyond $175 million.

The 39-year-old is now regarded as football’s first billionaire, sitting alongside sporting icons such as Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Roger Federer. Long-time rival Lionel Messi, now at Inter Miami, is estimated to have earned over $600 million in pre-tax salary across his career.

Despite the wealth and the luxury lifestyle, Ronaldo has no plans to slow down just yet. He remains central to Al-Nassr’s ambitions and continues to chase goals, records and trophies, proving that retirement is still a long way from his thinking – even with a private island retreat waiting for him.
