Chelsea open to selling Enzo Fernandez as Manchester United and Forest pursue January deals

The January window continues to deliver headlines across Europe, with several Premier League clubs active in negotiations.

Chelsea and Enzo Fernandez
Chelsea have reportedly told Real Madrid they are willing to sell Argentina midfielder Enzo Fernandez this year. The 25-year-old, signed for a British-record fee in 2023, could be on the move if Madrid firm up their interest.

Manchester United targets
United are preparing to rival Napoli and Atletico Madrid for Wolves’ Portuguese midfielder Joao Gomes, 24. The Red Devils are also monitoring Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, 23, and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, 21, as part of their summer plans. In addition, both United and Tottenham have made contact with former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez, exploring managerial options.

Nottingham Forest and Lucca
Forest are in talks with Napoli over a loan move for Italy striker Lorenzo Lucca, 25, with a permanent deal possible in the summer.

Crystal Palace and Mateta
Palace have rejected Juventus’ approach for French forward Jean-Philippe Mateta, 28, as they look to keep hold of their attacking options.

Barcelona’s coaching outlook
Barcelona are considering Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and PSG’s Luis Enrique as future managerial candidates, though current coach Hansi Flick remains in place for now.
